Musings & Thoughts for Monday, December 20, 2021, or: Geez, it’s Monday…Again?

Hi there, Dear Reader. It’s late morning here in Lithia, Florida, on Monday, December 20, 2021. It is a cool, gray-tinted day here in the Tampa Bay area. Currently, the temperature is 71˚F (22˚C) under cloudy skies. With humidity at 84% and the wind blowing from the east-northeast at 10 MPH (16 KM/H), the feels-like temperature is 71˚F (22˚C). Today’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and a high of 77˚F (25˚C). Tonight we can expect scattered rain showers and a low of 68˚F (20˚C).

I don’t have much in the way of news – The Caregiver, her boyfriend, and I watched No Time to Die on the big TV out in the common room. As often happens when the Caregiver’s new beau says he wants to watch a movie as long as No Time to Die (it has a running time of two hours and 43 minutes), the dude got tired and wheeled himself to the master bedroom and – presumably – went to sleep. The Caregiver and I stuck it out, even though for me it was my second viewing in less than 24 hours.

Thank goodness that No Time to Die is an entertaining movie; I usually do not like rewatching longer films within a brief window of time, but Cary Joji Fukunawa does a great job at keeping the audience entertained throughout Daniel Craig’s fifth (and final) outing as Ian Fleming’s James Bond, aka MI6 Agent 007. The script by Fukunawa, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge works on different levels; it is a climax to the loose story arc that began in Casino Royale and continued in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre, yet works well – mostly, anyway – as a stand-alone story.[1]

Aside from that, I went to bed too late and woke up much too early. As a result, I am sleepy, sore all over, and foggy-brained even though I already had two cups of coffee and two slices of cheese pizza left over from last night. I also have no desire to park my butt at my desk all day, so I think I’ll pretend that it’s Sunday and just take a mental health break from my computer.
