Late Morning, Monday, December 25, 2023, Madison, New Hampshire

Hi, everyone, and welcome to the 1,372nd post I write for this blog. As the heading states, it’s late morning here in my small corner of New Hampshire. It’s a grey, chilly morning here; the current temperature is 36°F/2°C under cloudy skies, and the feels-like factor is 43°F/6°C. Today’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high of 41°F/5°C. The low tonight will be 32°F/0°C.
I don’t have much to say about my first December 24 in New England, except to say I felt pretty much the same way as I did at the same time in December of 2015. The big difference between then and now is that eight years ago I was way more optimistic about my future even though it was my first Christmas season without either my mom (she’d died five months and five days earlier) or my half-sister (we’ve been estranged since Mom’s passing). I had many reasons for feeling that way, but I’m not going to get into them. Suffice it to say that I was a bit happier on December 24, 2015 than I was yesterday and leave it at that.

Since this is Christmas Day, and because I really, really, really don’t feel like delving into my disorienting and weird Christmas Eve, I’m just going to share some music videos that are appropriate for the holiday.
(Oh, and if you have not yet bought a copy of my novella, Reunion: A Story, please consider doing so. Every royalty payment helps!)
Happy holidays, everyone!
