Late Morning, Tuesday, December 26, 2023, Madison, New Hampshire

Hi, there, and welcome to another installment of A Certain Point of View, Too. As I write these words, the temperature in the Madison area is 34°F/1°C under mostly sunny skies. The feels-like temperature is 43°F/6°C, and the forecast for today calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 46°F/8°C. The low tonight is expected to reach 33°F/1°C.
Well, if Christmas Eve 2023 wasn’t as festive or even bearable as I would have liked, Christmas Day more than made up for it. My friend and fellow blogger, Patti, invited me to have Christmas lunch/early supper with her, her husband Marc, and other members of her household. We ate the best meal I’ve had since I arrived in the Live Free or Die State on the 15th, and we watched three films, either in part (Die Hard) or in their entirety (Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back). Patti even gave me a Christmas present – a Star Wars fleece throw-on blanket.

Oh, and Paul Schingle, one of the many bloggers that I follow on WordPress left me a nice reply to a “Merry Christmas” comment I made on one of his blog posts. Here it is:
Thanks, Alex. And, Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. By the way, J devoured your book in one setting last night.[1] I’ll be reading it myself, when I finish the book she gave to me. I’ll try to get you a review in the near future. Thanks, again, Alex!
Other than that, there’s not much to report. I’m still doing my best to adapt to my new home here in New England despite the many challenges involved. The cold and longer winter nights are the most challenging, but homesickness sometimes hits me harder than I thought. Many of my Facebook friends advise me that I’ll feel happier and more “at home” once I’m fully settled in and I can just focus on my writing and daily routine. We’ll see.
I hope your holidays are going well, folks, whether they’re religious or secular.
Since I don’t have any other earth-shattering news, I’ll close here. Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you on the sunny side of things.
[1] J is Paul’s wife.
