Early Evening, Thursday, January 4, 2024, Madison, New Hampshire

Hi, everyone.
Well, it’s now 15 minutes past sunset; I usually don’t write blog posts this late in the day unless (a) I’m adding a follow-up to something I posted at my usual midday publishing hour, or (b) had to wait till late in the day because I was out and about between 10 AM and 12 PM. Today was a case of the latter, as I went out to run one errand with my friend (and landlady) Patti, which was followed by a sightseeing drive that took us to the neighboring town of Lincoln, New Hampshire.

We had lunch at the Black Mountain Burger Company restaurant in Lincoln, which we washed down with some fine beer. I had a pale ale from a local brewer, Stoneface, and Patti enjoyed a darker brew. (Don’t ask me for the names, cos I didn’t jot them down. Just take my word for it…the beer I had was damn good!)
On our way home, Patti stopped at a nearby Dunkin Donuts store, where I bought a dozen glazed donuts. I had been craving donuts for some time, and the DD store was conveniently on the same road that leads to Madison, so….
Anyway, I’m too tired – and a bit buzzed from that IPA I had with lunch – so I am not going to work on the novel today. And…I don’t have much to add, except to say that I now have a mailbox number and that New Hampshire has stunningly beautiful scenery.
Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you on the sunny side of things.
