Well, fate has a funny way of bringing us full circle, doesn’t it? Just a year ago, I was decking the halls in snowy New England, and now, here I am, celebrating Christmas in my sunny, sandy hometown of Miami. It’s a bit surreal, to be honest. I mean, who would’ve thought I’d be back in the land of palm trees and pastelitos so soon?

I’m running on fumes today because I decided drinking coffee after dinner was a brilliant idea. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. The combination of caffeine and the excitement of being surrounded by family for the first time in almost a year was a recipe for insomnia. I tossed and turned all night, finally dragging myself out of bed around 8:30 AM, looking like a festive zombie. Good thing it’s not a workday, right?
