Midmorning, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Orlando, Florida
Hey there.

It’s my third day living in Bithlo, a suburb not far from Orlando. Florida’s autumn weather is as usual—warm and humid. This Wednesday morning, it’s about 77°F (25°C) with partly sunny skies. Humidity’s at 90%, and there’s a light breeze coming from the south-southwest at around 6 MPH (10 Km/H), so it actually feels closer to 86°F (30°C). Looks like we’ll see some light rain on and off today, and temps might hit 87°F (30°C).

So far, settling in has been pretty smooth—except that most of my stuff is still in Miami until the folks in South Florida can get the trailer fixed. The homeowner, who’s an older lady renting me a room, has been super friendly and helpful. My room’s private, I can cook whenever I want in the kitchen, and I’ve got space for my books, movies, and CDs. If storage gets tight, no worries—we can figure out other places for my things, especially for movies and music, since they don’t take up too much room anyway.
I don’t have much else to report. The move and the stress that come with big life changes have tired me out, so I haven’t done much writing aside from posts for this blog. Thankfully, I am not writing a new work of fiction, but I was preparing a deluxe omnibus edition of the Reunion Duology for either a Winter 2024 or Spring 2025 release. I have a dedicated file for it on Kindle Create, and I had been working on it at least one day per week till last week, but worries about the move and its related expenses put a stop to that for the time being. And since sales of the three Garratyverse books – Reunion: A Story, Reunion: Coda, and Comings and Goings – The Art of Being Seen – have been underwhelming, I don’t see why I should exert myself on a project that there’s little demand for.

I’ll still work on the omnibus edition, if only because I want to see the project to completion, but I will wait till I’m rested and fit both mentally and physically to do so.
If you’d like to support me during this transition, I’ve set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of the move and related expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps me stabilize and return to the creative work that means so much to me. And if you believe in earning support through art, I’ve got four books available on Amazon—three of which I’m genuinely proud of. They explore memory, friendship, and emotional truth in ways that I hope resonate with readers who value quiet depth over spectacle. Either way, thank you for being here, for reading, and for walking alongside me on this journey.
