It’s a warm and sunny day in my small corner of Central Florida. The temperature – as I write this – is 77°F under mostly sunny conditions, but since we’re in the subtropical zone and there’s a lot of humidity in the atmosphere, it feels like 83°F. It’s also early winter and we’re on Standard time, so we only have a few hours of daylight left as sunset will arrive at 5:30 PM.

(In the more northerly latitudes, such as in Madison, NH, the skies get darker even earlier. Sunset at my former temporary homestead will be at 4:07 PM EST. And…it’s only 26°F in the early afternoon hours!)
I don’t have much in the way of news, other than to say I’m going out to have dinner with two fellow South Miami High alums (Ken and Amy) at their house. They’re celebrating Hannukah (it’s the second night of the holiday, if I’m not mistaken), and I’m curious to see how they observe the occasion. Since it’s my first holiday outing since I visited my friend Patti at her house in Madison for Christmas 2023, I’m looking forward to tonight’s festivities.
Since I must go get ready before my friends pick me up, I’ll close for now.
