It’s another pleasantly crisp morning in Central Florida as the workweek settles into its comfortable middle. Right now we’re sitting at 64°F (18°C) under generous sunshine. Spring’s chilly cameo is already packing up—today is a full ten degrees warmer than yesterday, so this cold snap won’t be sticking around. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 69°F (21°C). Still, it’s light‑jacket or long‑sleeve weather, and honestly, I’m happy to layer up and enjoy it while it lasts.

This morning’s adventure featured a Spectrum technician arriving bright and early to install our new turbo‑charged Wi‑Fi router. My landlady’s stepson gave it a valiant try last night—armed with determination and a phone, he wrestled with customer service, billing verification, and the mysteries of network names and passwords. But after reaching the limits of DIY heroism, the cavalry was summoned for an 8 AM appointment.

The tech arrived right on schedule and, after more than an hour of digital wizardry—including thoughtfully programming the new router with our old network name and password for a seamless handoff—had us back online. The Wi‑Fi now hums along, and although I’m a couple of hours behind on my writing, the day feels like it’s finally opening up.

Now it’s time for my traditional two‑hour midday break. I need to make something for lunch and sketch out my afternoon writing shift. With all the uncertainty about whether I’d even have Internet access today, I haven’t quite decided what I want to tackle next.

But at least I know I’m connected to the wider world again, and that alone makes the day feel steadier.

Until next time, stay safe, stay well—and may your signal stay strong.
