Musings & Thoughts for Tuesday, June 8, 2021, or: ‘Baseball’ Arrives Today, ‘Indy’ Box Set Hasn’t Shipped

Hi. Dear Reader. It’s late morning in New Hometown, Florida on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Currently, the temperature is 84˚F (29˚C) under partly sunny skies. With humidity at 49% and the wind blowing from the southeast at 10 MPH (12 KM/H), the heat index is 89˚F (32˚C). Today’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high of 91˚F (33˚C). Tonight, we can expect partly cloudy skies and a low of 73˚F (23˚C). Today’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is 41 or Good.

Well, today I will receive one of the two “new-release” Blu-ray box sets I am expecting from Amazon this week. Last night, my 11-disc set of the remastered for high-definition Baseball: A Film by Ken Burns shipped, and  as I write this, it is Out for Delivery, and if all goes well, I should have it today by 2:15 PM.

As for the Indiana Jones: 4-Movie Collection 4K UHD set: No, that order did not ship last night or even this morning. It’s remotely possible that maybe the tracking data might have been affected by an Internet outage that occurred earlier this morning (10 AM UTC or 11 AM UK time) due to a glitch at CDN provider Fastly. But it is more likely that Amazon hasn’t shipped the Indiana Jones box set yet and that my package will arrive on Thursday at the earliest.

Other than that, Dear Reader, I don’t have any earthshaking news to share. I’ll probably take a break for lunch after I post this on WordPress, then write until six. Life here is somewhat monotonous and utterly unremarkable, but as the saying goes, much preferable to the alternative.

And on that note, I humbly take my leave of you. As always, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you on the sunny side of things.
