In 10 days, give or take several hours, I will be 60 years old.
And as if I didn’t need any reminders of the passage of time, some of my favorite movies (made during my lifetime) are also getting their 60th, 50th, 40th, 30th, and 20th Anniversaries.

I think you’ve seen a lot more movies than I. I missed a few of those.

I used to be an entertainment beat writer for both my high school and college student newspapers, and I’ve been in love with film for as long as I’ve loved to read. I suspect that I’ve seen more movies than you because you were busy with your professional endeavors and didn’t have the luxury of spare time to watch movies. Plus, I collect movies on home media, especially now that I have no uncomplicated way to go to a multiplex on my own.

Yes, I know you are a movie aficionado, I’ve seen it here, and I remember your excellent Epinions movie reviews. Also, when I was younger, I grew up in a fundamentalist Baptist environment and I did not watch any movies or listened to modern music. My brother saw King Kong (the old one from 1933) and everyone was against it, but secretly I wished I’d seen it too.
