A Son’s Tears, A Mother’s Love…& Lasagna (A Poem)

A wave of sobs, tears never-ending,
A mother’s comfort, love unrelenting.
“You’ll see her again, or someone new,
Life isn’t fair, but you’ll make it through.”

Petulant thoughts, unspoken and sour,
A mother’s wisdom, a healing power.
“Time heals all wounds, believe it’s true,
You’ll find love again, it’ll come to you.”

A small smile, a glimmer of hope,
A mother’s love, a way to cope.
“Thanks, Mom,” he said with a sigh,
“I love you too,” she replied with a smile.

A shower to wash away the pain,
A lasagna to nourish and sustain.
Life goes on, with its ups and downs,
But a mother’s love will always be around.
