Well, hello there, Dear Reader. It’s late morning here in Lithia, Florida, on Monday, May 1, 2023 – May Day. It’s a nice spring day in the Tampa Bay area: sunny, cool (68°F/20°C); the forecast for our area calls for sunny skies and a high of 83°F/29°C).

My Sunday was a restful one. I did look over the revisions I made to The New Story on Saturday for inconsistencies (such as grammar and spelling errors, cos those tend to creep in no matter how careful I am), but I stuck to my guns and didn’t add any new material. I was tempted to tinker a bit with the manuscript and even get a jump on today’s writing, but I do know my limits and resisted the urge to “just get the next chapter started.”

I spent most of my Sunday afternoon either reading – I chose a book about the naval battle of Leyte Gulf (October 23-26, 1944) – or watching a documentary (The Korean War: Fire & Ice) out in the family room. I also listened to music for a while, played a couple of rounds of solitaire on my PC, and…that was it. I went to bed sometime after 10:30 PM and woke up around 6:30 AM.

Today, of course, is a “back to work on the story” day, so I need to wrap this up and start prepping for the task ahead. So, until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you on the sunny side of things.
