Hi, everyone. Welcome to the Friday edition of A Certain Point of View, Too.
Today’s post will be, by necessity, short. I had a hard time falling asleep last night; I didn’t stay up all night, mind you, but I woke up several times between midnight and 5 AM. I did manage to fall deeply asleep sometime around 6 AM – close to my usual wake up time of between 7 and 7:30 AM – and woke up at 12:05 PM.
As a result, even though I slept for over six hours without interruption, I’m still a bit foggy-brained and tired despite having had a decent breakfast that included coffee and toast. If I’m going to work on my novel, I’m going to need to be more awake and clear-headed than I am now.
Honestly, I don’t believe that I will be able to get much work-related writing done today. On most days, I usually start working on Reunion: Coda at this time of day (2 PM or shortly afterward) following a rest break that lasts between 90 minutes and two hours. I can start writing later than that, of course, if I need to, but my experiences with writing Reunion: Coda or revising the first book in the duology tell me that the later I started writing, the less consistent the quality of the end product became.

I will try to get some work done today after a rest break, but I am not optimistic that I’ll make much progress in the Writing New Words front. Oversleeping is a double-edged sword; my body feels mostly rested, but my ability to think creatively is impaired. If I do work on Reunion: Coda, it will more likely than not involve edits and revisions that I’d usually make during the next phase of prepublication.
Anyway, I will take my leave of you here. Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you on the sunny side of things.
