Afternoon, Saturday, September 30, 2023, Lithia, Florida

Hi, everyone, and welcome to another Saturday edition of A Certain Point of View, Too. I hope you are having a good weekend – the last one for September and marks the end of the month and first third of meteorological fall.
It’s just past 2 PM as I write this, and it looks as though today will be a no-work-on-the-novel day unless I get motivated or get struck by inspiration before 4 PM. I’m not as physically tired as I was yesterday, nor did I fall asleep at a weird hour and wake up at noon, like I did yesterday. But…mentally? Well, let’s just say I’m not exactly at my best now.
Since I am willing to entertain the possibility of working on Reunion: Coda – even if it’s for an hour – this afternoon, I will try to relax for a bit, maybe read for a while, and then come back sometime before 4 PM and see how I feel about writing. I do need to finish Chapter 11, and the sooner I do that, the better I’ll feel.

Instead of a long post about the angsty thoughts of a first-time novelist, I think I’ll close here and add some nice music videos instead!
So, until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch on the sunny side of things!

I found it interesting that you included a video to a Swedish choir singing in the Salvation Army temple

I love “All the Things You Are,” and this choir from Sweden does one of the best renditions of this 1939 song by Jerome Kern (composer) and Oscar Hammerstein II (lyricist).
I was wondering if you’d notice, Thomas! I’ve shared the video before, but I think this is the first time you’ve commented about this being from your country of origin.

I tend to skip over music videos unless they are important to the content. Not in your posts particularly but in everyones. So I miss a lot of music videos.

That’s understandable. I’m guessing that you didn’t skip that video? (Although, for all I know, you could have just read the info on the video’s page on YouTube!)
I don’t know why, but this song has become one of my favorites, and often (but not today) it helps me when I’m working on “Reunion: Coda.”

I listened to part of the video but not the whole video. I’ve heard “All the Things You Are” performed many times. I admit it is not my favorite but I know it.

There are so many versions of “All the Things You Are.” There’s even an album with 27 different interpretations, some of which I like, and others…not so much. I suppose that applies to most songs that are covered often and in different styles. (In my case, the farthest that the cover “strays” from the original version, the less likely it is that I’ll like it.)

I’m sure, when the inspiration hits, you’ll finish this chapter and, then get a good run going. Thinking good thoughts for you, Alex!
