    1. Pexels certainly does have a collection of nice photos, doesn’t it? And I’m glad you enjoyed my haiku.

Here in Florida, fall is far subtler and much harder to “detect” than it is in other parts of the world. The most obvious sign is that it’s less rainy and a bit cooler than the previous season.

      1. It must be a nice relief to have the temperature drop a little bit. I’m in Michigan and Fall is way too short, but it’s my favorite season. I remember when I was a kid, the smell of burning leaves. We’re not supposed to do that now, but I do remember and miss that smell.

      2. I’ve only experienced a northerly fall once, and that was 35 years ago (yikes) when I participated in a Semester in Spain study abroad program in Sevilla (Seville). We didn’t see too many visual cues that fall had arrived cos Andalucia is on the edge of the temperate zone, but it was certainly chillier than it is here in Florida. I’m glad that I had cold weather gear when I was there!

      3. Oh, yes, I imagine so! ๐Ÿ™‚

The turning of the leaves is so beautiful here, that on weekends, we enjoy long car drives just to see all the beauty.

In October, we also pick apples, go on hayrides, and pick pumpkins, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think Florida is lovely and have been there a few times. I think I would love it there very much, but I would miss my Michigan Autumn. ๐Ÿ™‚

      4. I’ve only been to your part of the country once, and that was in the summer of 1985 when my late mother and I went to Wisconsin to visit friends of the family in De Pere, which is not far from Green Bay. Because there are no direct flights from Miami (my hometown) to Green Bay, we had to take a connecting flight from Detroit to GB. The only part of your state that I saw beyond that was the Upper Peninsula, and that was because we had to drive through there to go from De Pere to a cabin in the part of Wisconsin that’s adjacent to the UP.

As for Florida…especially right now in 2023…I’m resigned to the possibility that I’ll spend the rest of my life here because I can’t afford to move out of state, but if my books ever take off – or if I win the Florida Lotto – I’d move up north. Florida is a somewhat nice place to visit, but I would not recommend it as a place to live, especially to folks with school-age children.

      5. The U.P. is wonderful. We call the folks there “Yoopers,” and they call us “Trolls” (because we live “under” the Mackinac Bridge. LOL But it’s a loving relationship just the same. ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, I hope your books take off and you win the lotto! ๐Ÿ˜€

      6. I currently have two books available on Amazon (and the online version of Barnes & Noble); the first one is meh-ish (which is why I don’t promote it much), but this one is decent: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asin=B07F4SL6NQ&preview=newtab&linkCode=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_WWH9PT8GMAMBE2PYQZ7V
