Musings & Thoughts for Friday, November 10, 2023, or: From Lithia to Madison – The Saga Continues…and the Novel is on Hold (for Today, Anyway)

Late Morning, Friday, November 10, 2023, Lithia, Florida

Hi, everyone, and welcome to the 1,327^th post on A Certain Point of View, Too. It’s a warm late fall morning here in the Tampa Bay area; the temperature outside is 82°F/28°C under sunny skies. Since we’re in the subtropical zone, it’s going to feel like late spring/early summer later – the forecast for today calls for sunny skies and a high of 89°F/32°F.

Meanwhile, in my future stomping grounds of Madison, New Hampshire, it is far colder than here. The current temperature there is 43°F/6°C under cloudy conditions. That’s something I’m trying to mentally prepare for – I’ve only been to New York City and Colorado when it still snowed, but only for short stays. This journey to New Hampshire is permanent, and since I’m not particularly fond of cold weather, of course I’m concerned about how quickly I’ll adapt to a Northern winter after almost 55 years as a Florida resident.

Movin’ Out – The Saga Continues

This post is going to be brief because:

• I’ve been awake since 3:30 AM, and even though I tried to fall asleep again, I’ve been up and about since 6:30. So…I don’t feel much like writing today
• Even though most of the books on my IKEA Billy shelves are packed – some will be put away later just so I’ll have something to read before M-Day (December 12) – there are still plenty of Star Wars collectibles to be removed and put in moving boxes

On Writing & Storytelling: Action This Day

I don’t think I’ll be doing much work on Reunion: Coda today. First, I’m too tired and unable to concentrate properly, so I’d rather take a break from novel writing and wait for a more opportune time to write, edit, and rewrite stuff in the master document file for the manuscript.

If I weren’t moving in 32 days, I would be happy to work on Reunion: Coda today; I so badly wanted to have it ready in time for the winter holidays, but I can’t focus on two big projects at the same time. The move to Madison right now is more urgent, so any work on the novel will have to be done whenever I can get a chance to write with my bedroom door closed and locked. And, unfortunately, today is not that day.
