Late Morning, Friday, November 24, 2023, Lithia, Florida

Hi, there, folks. Here we are, the day after Thanksgiving; I hope my American readers all had a nice, drama-free holiday.
My Thanksgiving experience was all right. The food was good. The company was also good. I was sad it would be the last holiday Iโd celebrate in the Tampa Bay area, though.

As I write this, itโs chilly โ for Florida, anyway โ at 61ยฐF/16ยฐC under a mix of clouds and occasional heavy downpours. Itโs going to be a cool and somewhat rainy day in Hillsborough County, with scattered showers and a high of 66ยฐF/19ยฐC.

My future destination, Madison, New Hampshire, is experiencing nicer celestial conditions โ itโs mostly cloudy there, but โ naturally โ itโs colder there. The current temperature is 39ยฐF/4ยฐC, and the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 39ยฐF/4ยฐC
Long Weekend Update, Part the First

Iโve been up and about since just before 4 AM, so Iโve already brewed coffee and eaten breakfast. Aside from that, my Black Friday has been โ no surprise โ quiet and uneventful; I didnโt go to Amazon to get anything from there in todayโs big sales โ most of my stuff is in boxes, and Iโm not in the โget more stuff to take up Northโ mood anyway. Itโs bad enough that my last to-be-delivered-here orders (the 4K UHD release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and the 4K UHD steelbook edition of Stand By Me) will arrive on December 5 โ one week before the beginning of my road trip to Madison.
Since Iโve been โ as I write this โ up for nearly seven hours, Iโm already a bit tired. And because itโs so gray and damp outside, I doubt that Iโll go for a walk any time soon. If the rain goes away by late afternoon or early evening, I will try to go to the nearby park just to stretch my legs and not feel like I didnโt even try to go out today.
On Writing & Storytelling: Reunion: Coda Update

I made some minor cosmetic changes to Reunion: Codaโs prologue. I didnโt mess with the text much, but I did give one of Jim Garratyโs ex-girlfriends a proper name; before, she was just referred to as โMiss Everything Happens For a Reason.โ Nowโฆwell, youโll have to wait till next year to see what her real name is.โ

Aside from that, though, I donโt think that Iโll work much on the manuscript unless I am feeling super energetic, extremely calm, and content, or have one of those โEureka!โ moments when an idea pops in my mind and I canโt shake it off. With the days whizzing by until M-Day, I am not exactly in a good emotional place to write a novel. I worry way too much about the logistics of the move โ over which I have little to no control, really โ and (of course) I fret about major life changes cos Iโm only human, you know?
Thatโs all the news I have to share, so Iโll close this post here. Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and Iโll catch you on the sunny side of things.

I should have stayed away from Amazon. I’ve been jonesing for an air fryer, and I spent part of yesterday with Consumer Reports, and then, this morning, I pulled the trigger, as Amazon’s Black Friday deal on the one I have my eye on, well, it’s too good to pass up. Which, in and of itself, is not a bad thing – a great price on something I already want. The bad part is that I told someone last week that that’s what I want for Christmas, and they were EXTREMELY likely to fulfill my request. Now I have to walk that back. Oopsy!

I hope you can, indeed, walk it back.
You could, of course, also order a copy of my novella! ๐
