Mid- to Late Afternoon, Saturday, December 2, 2023, Lithia, Florida

Hi, everyone, and welcome to another installment of A Certain Point of View, Too. I usually post way earlier in the day, not in the middle of the afternoon, but I find that as M-Day draws closer, the harder it is for me to concentrate on writing. That’s why I suspended most work on my novel, and that’s why my blog posts aren’t posted in the late morning or early afternoon hours.

Anyway, as I write this, it’s almost a summery day here in the Tampa Bay area. The temperature outside is 83°F/28°C under mostly sunny conditions. The feels-like temperature is 87°F/30°C thanks to high humidity (70%) humidity.

Meanwhile, up in Madison, New Hampshire, the weather picture is more fitting for December. The temperature there is 43°F/6°C under mostly cloudy conditions, and a winter weather alert is active for the region. Not the weather I envisioned for myself at this point in my life, but I’ll get used to it…eventually.

Weekend Update, Part the First

I didn’t play Regiments today…nor yesterday, for that matter. (C) 2022 Bird’s Eye Games & MicroProse

My weekend so far has been a repeat of the weekends from last month. Getting mentally prepared for M-Day…not working on my novel…finding ways to stave off boredom while helping, in my own limited fashion, with packing and putting a brave face on despite my worries and regrets…and trying to not be annoying throughout the entire process.

The only noteworthy thing I can say about last night is that I watched Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny last night on Disney+. I would have watched it anyway when the Blu-ray arrives sometime next week, but since I didn’t see it in theaters when it premiered in the summer, I couldn’t simply miss the opportunity to watch it on the family room TV with the Roku – I could have watched it on my TV, but without captions, so I opted to watch it on the TV set that does have captions on Disney+.

I don’t feel like writing a review of Indy V now, but I was impressed by the story that new Indiana Jones director James Mangold tells in the fifth and final film of the series. I also like how it connects to the Spielberg-directed movies, especially Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and even though I wish Spielberg had been available to helm Dial of Destiny, Mangold proved that he and Disney-owned Lucasfilm stayed true to George Lucas’s iconic archaeologist/adventurer and his past adventures.

Aside from that, there’s not much to tell. Life goes on here as it usually does, and I have mixed emotions galore.

So…without further ado, here are some more music videos!

  1. It’s a little colder in my hometown in northern Sweden, 11 degrees (Fahrenheit). But that is actually not bad for up there. Just like you are doing, I would go back to the writing once you are settled in. It is probably too stressful right now. Writing require focus and comfort.
