Late Morning, Monday, December 11, 2023, Lithia, Florida

Hey, folks.
This is going to be a short post; I’m even going to dispense with the usual weather report I usually write at the beginning of a new blog entry.
Today is a day full of mixed emotions as it is my last full day as a Florida resident. At some point tomorrow, my friend Patti will come to Lithia to retrieve me and my possessions and begin the trek from the Sunshine State to New Hampshire. If we can fit all of the boxes and other items – such as my now disassembled bookcases and pieces of furniture – we can make the move in one fell swoop. If we must leave stuff behind, then we’ll have to return in March to retrieve it. I’m hoping that everything will fit in the U-Haul trailer, but I have a (bad) feeling that it won’t.
I’m glad, in a way, that the whole “I’m Moving Out” ordeal that began in November of 2022 – when the move was purely local and therefore less complicated and stressful – is soon going to end. Part of me wishes that things had worked out better and that I didn’t need to move out at all, but unfortunately, they did not. Part of me is hoping that this move to Madison will end with me in a situation where I’m in a better environment for writing, socializing, and even dating.
In addition to feeling conflicted, I’m also tired. Once again I woke up around 4 AM and couldn’t go back to sleep. If I didn’t have last-minute errands to run – I need to get a new phone before I leave, after all – I would just lie down and try to relax and watch a movie on my TV before that gets packed into a moving box. As it is, I’m sleepy, irritable, and more than a tad glum.
So, that’s how my last Monday in the Tampa Bay area is shaping up.
I obviously don’t have much else to add, so here are some more music videos.

I’m leaving tomorrow, but I might not be able to post (unless I write something quick at dawn), so thanks. Catch you on the sunny side of things!
