Late Morning, Sunday, March 31, 2024, Madison, New Hampshire
Hi, all – and Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate the holiday. It is a gorgeous early spring day here in my corner of northern New England. Currently, the temperature is 44°F (7°C) under partly sunny conditions. With humidity at 37% and the wind blowing from the west-northwest at 9 MPH (15 Km/H), it feels like 48°F (9°C). Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 51°F (10°C). Tonight, skies will be mostly clear. The low will be 27°F (-3°C).
Weekend Update, Part the First: My Saturday

As much as I wanted to not work on Reunion: Coda yesterday, I ended up going to both the manuscript and the Kindle Create files to do a bit of editing. Thankfully, it only involved a minor edit related to conciseness, and it didn’t take a lot of time out of my day off. And, to be honest, it was more of a “cosmetic” choice rather than anything else. Still, I ended up breaking my promise to not work on weekends, even for a brief instant.
Aside from that, I had a nice start to my weekend, mostly because after three months of living in New Hampshire, I found the moving box with most of my Star Wars Blu-rays (both 2K HD and 4K UHD) inside.

Oddly enough, the box from Lowe’s was not in the garage – I made another trip there in search of a box that wasn’t too heavy for me to lift and carry on Friday and couldn’t find one that was labeled Star Wars DVDs and Blu-rays. At first, I was upset; I could have sworn that we had packed a box with that label – or something like it – when we started the moving process in Florida four months ago.
Then I realized that there is a quartet of boxes that Patti’s husband Marc had set down in my office when I first moved in. They contain mostly books and as such they bear labels such as “History Books” and “Star Wars Books.”
I wasn’t feeling optimistic, but I decided to look at those four boxes just in case there was one that had the label I expected to see.
I didn’t see one marked Star Wars Blu-rays & DVDs. But I did see a box, which was lying on its side that I had to flip over – not an easy task because it was heavy and I had to move some of the other boxes to do it – to see its label: Star Wars Books…& Movies…& More (or something along those lines.)

I opened it – none too elegantly, I’m sorry to say – and, sure enough, I had found at least one of the boxes (there’s another one, based on the contents I found yesterday) with the nine Star Wars films of the Skywalker Saga, as well as the two Disney-era A Star Wars Story films, Rogue One and Solo.

The box also included – per its label – some of my many Star Wars books, as well as a plush Easter Yoda, my Limited Collector’s Edition box set of the Star Wars Trilogy radio dramas, and the The Music of Star Wars – 40th Anniversary Collector’s Edition box set of soundtracks on CD. Both of those were given to me by my mother in the early 2000s, so I was thrilled to find them.
Some Star Wars titles are not in that box, such as the 2004 Star Wars Trilogy DVD set that my mother gave me that year for my birthday, but I can live with that for now.
I started watching Star Wars (officially, Star Wars – Episode IV: A New Hope) last night, but it was late, I was tired, and I fell asleep only 20 minutes into the movie. I will probably watch it after I post this in WordPress. But…hey…I found it!
