Late Morning, Monday, April 22, 2024, Madison, New Hampshire

Hi, folks, andโฆitโs Monday! (Yay?)
As I begin this, my 1,505th post in A Certain Point of View, Too, it is a cold spring morning in New England. Currently, the temperature is 37ยฐF (3ยฐC) under sunny conditions. With the wind blowing from the north-northwest at 8 MPH (13 Km/H) and humidity at 42%, the feels-like temperature is 41ยฐF (5ยฐC). Todayโs forecast calls for sunny skies throughout the day and a high of 51ยฐF (11ยฐC). Tonight, we can expect clear skies and a low of 26ยฐF (-4ยฐC).
Weekend Update, Part the Second โ My Sunday

In essence, Sunday, April 21, 2024, was a repetition of the previous day, except for one important detail: I didnโt feel like working on Reunion: Coda except for a few promotional activities. I shared a โreelโ I created for my Alex Diaz-Granadosโs Author Page on Facebook in the morning, and late last night I wrote a โstate of the novelโ post for my original A Certain Point of View on Blogger.
Aside from that, I:
- Listened to music on my PCโs Amazon Music app
- Read bits and pieces from some of my โhow to writeโ books
- Argued with strangers on Twitter and Facebook
- Went outside for a short walk and snapped a couple of photos with my phoneโs camera
- Played Crusade in Europe but had to quit because there was no way to save the Campaign game (someone needs to design and publish a modern version of Crusade in Europe, with the same scenarios and ease of play, but with 21st Century graphics, sounds, and โ most importantly โ the ability to save games in the โcloudโ)
- Thought (a great deal) about the good women that Iโve loved (and loved me), as well as women Iโd love to โbe withโ
- Made chili dogs for the first time since I left Miami slightly over eight years ago
- Attempted to watch โ but failedโฆagain โ Ridley Scottโs Alien Covenant

Thatโs it. No more, no less.

On Writing & Storytelling: Action This Day

Today, of course, is the beginning of a new workweek, so I will be working on Reunion: Coda. More specifically, I will be continuing the first scene of the novelโs fifteenth chapter. I plan to begin my rest-and-recreation break as early as possible, then come back to my desk and write as much as possible, for as long as possible. Itโs a simple plan, and if I follow it to the letter, it should be a successful one.

As for where I stand with Reunion: Coda as of this blog post, here are the current stats:

As of this writing, the manuscript of Reunion: Coda has 15 chapters: a prologue, plus 13 finished chapters and another one currently being written. According to Microsoft Word, the document contains 86,887 words and is 203 pages long. (Of course, the page count is higher on the Kindle Create app and WriteItNow creative writing program because on Word, the page size is 8.5 X 11. The other apps assume that the novel will be formatted for 9 X 6 pages in the paperback, so the page count on them is already past 300.
Well, thatโs all I have for you today, so Iโll take my leave of you. Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and Iโll catch you on the sunny side of things.

I really admire how much time and effort you put into your writing, I’m never steadily working on my writing and that bugs me a bit. Your consistency is really admirable.

To be honest, I have attempted to write a novel before, but until Reunion: Coda, I would write one or, sometimes, two or three chapters, then lose momentum and give up. I promised myself that since Reunion: A Story was going to get a continuation with the novel, I’d see it through to the end. Since I’ve already spent a year on the project, and since I’ve made the writing process a matter of public record, I’m committed.
I have one favor to ask, Pooja. When you have some time, could you read and review Reunion: A Story on your blog? Barring that…could you recommend it to friends who you know will like the genre? Thanks in advance.

I mentioned it on this review post I did with books by WP bloggers: https://lifesfinewhine.ca/2023/12/27/books-by-wordpress-bloggers-you-need-to-read-in-2024/
But I can definitely do a full review post for it in the future if you like ๐

A full review would be most appreciated, plus it would be the first one from Kenya! Thanks, Pooja!
