Weekend Update, Part the First: France’s Day, a Necessary Chore, and a Surprising Twist

Hello, dear readers. It’s another warm summer day here in eastern New Hampshire on the second half of the weekend. I’d like to note that it’s Bastille Day in France and its overseas departments and territories. So, to my French audience, Vive la France!

Yesterday was laundry day for me. I washed a relatively small load of clothes, much smaller than the ones I washed when I was in Miami, especially during the five years when I was my mom’s primary caregiver before she died in July of 2015. Consequently, I didn’t spend much time on this chore, thankfully.

I spent yesterday doing laundry and indulging in my leisure activities, such as scrolling through social media, listening to classical music on Amazon Music, watching YouTube videos, and playing solitaire on my computer. The day was uneventful until I learned about a shooting incident at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania late in the evening. I don’t plan to write about politics or Donald Trump on my blog for now, so this is my only comment on the topic.

Today, I don’t have any plans. (What else is new?) I might ask Copilot to analyze a few more scenes from the Reunion Duology later, even though I won’t actually work on Reunion: Coda today. (Tomorrow is not that far away, you know?) I’m a bit tired, even though I slept relatively well, and I still haven’t thought of a good way to start the novel’s nineteenth chapter. So… unless Calliope comes down from Olympus and clouts me on the noggin with a heavy dose of inspiration, I’m taking it easy on this hot and humid Sunday.
