Late Morning, Monday, August 5, 2024, Madison, New Hampshire
Hi, everyone. It’s the beginning of another workweek for most of us on this fifth day of August 2024. It’s a sultry late summer day in Madison’s Eidelweiss District; it’s sunny and humid, and the forecast calls for scattered light showers later today.
I didn’t sleep well last night. My upcoming move back to South Florida stresses me more than I anticipated, so last weekend was not as restful as I wanted – or needed – it to be. I can’t say I was up all night; I dozed off here and there between 11 PM and 2 AM. But after 2 in the morning, I was awake for long periods despite my best efforts.

Still, I will work on the Reunion: Coda manuscript later, at least for a while. If I don’t start on the fifth and final scene of the novel’s nineteenth chapter, I will edit and revise the text that’s already in the master document file.

Some positive news: my Kindle Direct Publishing account showed two e-book purchases yesterday. They were for Save Me the Aisle Seat, my inaugural self-published book through Amazon’s Create Space, and Reunion: A Story, a novella that sets the stage for my forthcoming novel. The royalties, of course, will be modest, but at least I earned something from my writing efforts.
That concludes my update; I’ll leave you with a selection of music videos from YouTube for your enjoyment.
