Late Morning, Friday, August 16, 2024, Madison, New Hampshire

Hello everyone. It’s another cool day here in Madison’s Eidelweiss District. The temperature is 68°F (20°C) under mostly cloudy conditions. The sun is barely penetrating through the clouds, making my office quite dark. The weather is expected to improve as the day progresses with partly sunny skies and a high of 75°F (25°C). Tonight, skies are expected to be mostly clear with a low of 60°F (16°C).

I don’t have much to share. I haven’t made any progress on Reunion: Coda. I’m feeling overwhelmed about my upcoming move back to Miami. I’m still upset about having to leave, among other things. Whenever I tried to sit down to write Jim, Maddie, and their supporting characters’ story, my mind wouldn’t align with my heart. Instead, I notified New Hampshire’s Department of Health and Human Services that I’ll be leaving soon and will inform them of my exact departure date once I know it.

Ah, if only things had worked out differently. I’m not that hard to please, and I do my best to get along with others. But even though many things went right during my eight months here, enough issues did not. And as I’ve said before, solitude is good for my writing endeavors, but isolation, loneliness, and frustration are not.

Anyway…moving on….

Today, I aim to continue Scene Five of the 19th chapter. If I can push aside my worries and focus on Reunion: Coda, I’ll try to draft a detailed outline for the scene’s fourth vignette. I’d be happy to write the scene afterward, but I’ll be content with just completing the outline as it will provide a solid base for Monday’s session.

It’s about time for my lunch break, so I’m wrapping things up for now. Wherever you are, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll see you on the bright side of things.

  1. I certainly can understand that you have a hard time writing right now. It is stressful with the move. I wish you the best with your move.

    1. On the upside of things, I wrote a detailed outline for Vignette #4, which I’ll build on tomorrow during the day. (I would have started on that today, but it was almost 6 PM when I finally brainstormed the vignette, and it was almost 8 when I finished the outline. In my younger days, I might have pressed on…but back then I lived with my mom and – till she got sick in 2010 – I didn’t have to worry about the things I worry about now.
