Hey there, Constant Readers!
It’s a balmy early winter day here in sunny South Florida. The temperature is a delightful 78°F (25°C) under those clear blue skies, making it a perfect day for sipping iced tea and pretending it’s still summer. Meanwhile, in Madison, NH, it’s a classic New England winter wonderland with a brisk 26°F (-3°C) – the kind of weather that makes you appreciate the invention of heated blankets and hot cocoa.

Today’s blog post will be short because, unfortunately, I’m feeling a bit under the weather. I woke up with a nagging headache, sore muscles, and an occasional urge to cough. I’ve already downed one DayQuil gelcap and some vitamins, and had a light breakfast chased with three cups of coffee. So, I’m sufficiently caffeinated but still not at 100%.
Due to this health hiccup, I doubt I’ll get much done on Reunion: Coda today. Instead of diving headfirst into Chapter 22, I’ll probably stick to editing and revising. This is my go-to strategy when the creative juices are running low. It’s like polishing a car when you’re too tired to take it for a spin – not as fun, but still productive.

Here’s a little writing insight for you: sometimes, even when inspiration is as elusive as a cat in a bathtub, the act of sitting down and tinkering with words can spark new ideas. It’s like priming the pump. So, if I can’t write anything new today, the least I can do is make the existing manuscript shine a bit brighter.
Stay warm, stay sunny, and happy reading!

I am sorry you are feeling under the weather. I hope you will feel better soon. At least you have good weather.

The weather, indeed, is fine. I wish I wasn’t feeling so poorly, though.

[…] As I mentioned yesterday, I’m battling a bothersome cold. While I don’t have the more severe symptoms—like a runny nose—I am plagued by an incessant headache and an occasional urge to cough. Thankfully, there’s no fever, but the headache is hampering my focus. […]
