A sight I won’t see again for the foreseeable future…snow on Christmas Eve. (Photo by the author, December 2023)

Hi, everyone!

Well, it’s the 24th of December, and I’m trying to accept that this is my first Christmas in Miami since December 2015.

It’s also my first Christmas in Florida since I left my previous domicile in the Tampa Bay area a year and 12 days ago for New Hampshire. I expected to live in Madison for a long time, but that didn’t happen, so…here I am in the city of my birth again.

Since it is Christmas Eve, I knew I wouldn’t be in a novel-writing mindset today. I wanted to be if only to get Chapter 23 started, but the pull of the holiday mentality is stronger than my desire to work on Reunion: Coda. Even when I am not hosting a Christmas party or expected to do anything besides being here and not making a fool of myself, I don’t feel much like working (and trust me, folks, writing is work).

In that spirit, I want to wish you all the best this holiday season. If you celebrate Christmas, have a Merry one. If you don’t, well, Happy Holidays to you!
