Writer’s Log, Stardate 0225.20:

To put it succinctly, yesterday’s afternoon writing session was a bust. Despite my best efforts to sit down and churn out something for my novel’s 25th chapter – I aimed to write Scene Three but would have happily settled for a solid outline – I ended up with a big, fat goose egg.
I’ve got to admit, it’s been pretty frustrating lately. Each day without fresh material slows down my momentum as I inch closer to penning the final chapters of Reunion: Coda. I’m itching to dive in and push the story forward (not necessarily to finish it in a heartbeat, you know), but it feels like I’m stuck in a creative quagmire. It’s like being on a thrilling roller coaster that’s suddenly halted mid-ride!

Oh, well. I knew when I embarked on this novel-writing adventure that it would have its tricky moments. Writing is tough, even on the best of days, and some parts of storytelling, like crafting a satisfying ending, are particularly daunting. And as I shared with you yesterday, I’m desperately trying to avoid writing a lackluster ending to what I’ve been reassured will be a good novel. So maybe my brain is behaving like a wary GI carefully navigating a battlefield, ever mindful of hidden mines or enemy snipers lurking just out of sight.

Fortunately, today is a workday for me, so I have another opportunity to achieve my writing goals this afternoon. I’m willing to put in the time and effort to craft something on this warm and humid Thursday in South Florida. So, here’s hoping that today is better and more productive than yesterday.
But hey, today’s a new day and I’m back at it again. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and there’s probably a fresh cup of coffee in my future. I’ve got another chance to dive into Scene Three and breathe life into Chapter 25. Let’s see if I can transform this warm, humid Thursday in Miami into a burst of creativity and productivity!
