Writer’s Log, Stardate 2504.10
Twenty-five months ago, I began drafting Reunion: Coda, fulfilling a solemn promise I made to my mom as a teenager: that someday, I’d write a novel. With its roots in Reunion: A Story, my existing novella, this new work set out to expand Jim Garraty’s journey into a longer and more ambitious narrative. The prologue served as the connective tissue, linking the two books into one cohesive emotional exploration.

Fast forward to today—the Kindle edition has been live on Amazon for five days, and I’m humbled to share that eight readers have purchased it[1], bringing in $23.47 in royalties. Additionally, four readers have discovered Reunion: A Story, adding another $14.06 and bringing the total royalties to $37.53. It’s not a Stephen King-like blockbuster by any stretch, but it’s a start—and for that, I’m grateful.
Now, as I sit here, I’m gearing up to officially announce the arrival of the “dead trees” edition of Reunion: Coda. Technically, it’s already available for order on Amazon worldwide—priced at €5.47 for the Kindle edition, €23.71 for the paperback, and €27.33 for the hardcover on Amazon Germany, for example. However, due to some minor formatting bloopers and typos (a mix of human errors on my part and Kindle Create quirks), I recommend holding off on purchasing the print editions until the final updates go through. Your patience as I polish these last details means everything to me.
As I mentioned earlier on Facebook:
✨ Big news, readers! The print editions of Reunion: Coda – both hardcover and paperback—are almost ready to grace your bookshelves. After a meticulous effort to polish those pesky formatting quirks (we’re at a confident 98.9%!), these editions should be good to order as soon as this weekend.
If you loved Reunion: A Story or are new to this heartfelt series, now is the perfect time to dive in. The Reunion Duology is a journey of connection, redemption, and the enduring impact of past choices.
In Reunion: A Story, Jim Garraty, a high school senior in 1983, grapples with unspoken feelings and missed opportunities. Fifteen years later, as a successful history professor, unresolved emotions resurface, challenging him to confront the choices that shaped his life.
Reunion: Coda builds on this foundation, exploring themes of transformation, connection, and self-discovery with a blend of wit, introspection, and emotional depth. As my debut novel, it represents not only Jim’s journey but also my evolution as a storyteller.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Kindle edition of Reunion: Coda so far. Your enthusiasm and encouragement mean the world to me! If you’ve enjoyed the novel, I’d greatly appreciate it if you’d consider leaving a rating or review on Amazon—it’s one of the best ways to help more readers discover the story and embark on Jim Garraty’s journey.
While I’m happy to sign copies in person at events or gatherings, the logistics of signing and mailing books are currently beyond my scope. I hope you understand, and I appreciate your patience. For audiobook fans, while I aspire to create an audio version one day, I recommend using the Kindle’s text-to-speech feature for now—it’s not perfect, but it’s a workaround for enjoying Jim’s story aloud.
Finally, if you haven’t yet explored The Reunion Duology, I encourage you to dive into one or both books, in whatever format suits you best. These stories delve into the power of second chances and the profound impact of past choices, and I hope they resonate with you just as deeply as they have with me.
[1] I’m one of the eight; Amazon does not give away free copies to the author.
