Late Morning, Thursday, April 17, 2025, Miami, Florida

It’s a sultry, gold-hued subtropical morning here in South Florida. Right now, the temperature stands at a pleasant 80°F (27°C) under a mostly sunny sky. With humidity at 56% and a gentle breeze blowing from the east-northeast at 9 MPH (15 Km/H), it feels more like a warm 87°F (31°C). We can look forward to plenty of sunshine throughout the day with temperatures reaching a delightful high of 82°F (28°C). Enjoy the beautiful weather, my fellow Miamians!

I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of my copy of Reunion: Coda’s hardcover edition. I placed my order late on Monday afternoon – the first day it went “live,” but it seems I just missed the cutoff for it to arrive today. Although I have the original manuscript and the first updated Kindle edition, there’s something truly special about holding a printed copy of one’s work, particularly when it’s a debut novel, and even more so when it’s the hardcover edition. So, to say I’m excited and a bit impatient would be quite an understatement. The anticipation is palpable!
According to the latest update from Amazon, my eagerly awaited book – my book! – has made its way to the distribution center in Davenport, Florida, just south of Orlando, at the early hour of 4:02 AM Eastern. It lingered there for a little over six hours before setting off again at 10:20 AM. Tonight, it should arrive in South Florida, likely at Amazon’s Opa Locka distribution center, where it will be loaded onto an Amazon Prime vehicle tomorrow morning, bringing me one step closer to holding the hardcover edition of my debut novel in my hands.

Now, my heart is brimming with two fervent hopes for Reunion: Coda. First and foremost, I wish that readers will find joy and resonance in its pages, whether or not they’ve had the pleasure of exploring the first book in the duology, Reunion: A Story. Taking a bold leap from my comfort zone, I ventured to extend a novella that was initially conceived as a standalone piece. In Reunion: Coda, I poured my soul into crafting a narrative that transcends the bounds of genre fiction, aiming to touch hearts and stir emotions while remaining faithful to the tale I started back in 1998 with Reunion: A Story.
Additionally, I hope that some of you who follow my blog but haven’t yet delved into the Reunion Duology will take a chance and discover the magic within Reunion: Coda. The feedback from my trusted readers has been overwhelmingly positive—Denise Longrie, despite not being drawn to “romance stories,” read Reunion: Coda in its raw first draft and found immense enjoyment in its storytelling. Similarly, Juan Carlos Hernandez, an actor and filmmaker with a keen eye for character-driven narratives, expressed admiration for the depth and authenticity of my female characters, Marty and Maddie. His enthusiasm was palpable, as he was one of the first to purchase the Kindle edition.
Reunion: Coda is more than just a genre book—it’s a labor of love, a testament to the power of storytelling, and an intricate tapestry woven with passion and care. I can’t wait for you all to experience it.
Plus…I really could use the royalties!
