Late Morning, Friday, April 18, 2025, Miami, Florida

Hi there! As I sit here enjoying the beautiful, summer-like spring morning in South Florida, I can’t help but feel grateful for the sunshine. The current temperature is a pleasant 79°F (26°C), warmed by mostly sunny skies. Even though the humidity is at 58%, and there’s a gentle 10 MPH (17 Km/H) breeze from the east, it feels like a cozy 85°F (29°C). It’s shaping up to be a fantastic day with the Greater Miami area forecast predicting more sunshine and a high of 82°F (28°C). Let’s soak in the beauty of this gorgeous morning together!

It’s still hard for me to believe that just a year ago, I was nestled in the serene, chilly embrace of Madison, New Hampshire. Up in the picturesque hills and mountains of Carroll County, the weather was gradually shedding its wintry cloak, revealing the delightful promise of spring sunshine. On April 18, 2024 – a Thursday – the sun was a gentle companion, the temperature hovered in the 50s (10s for you folks on the Celsius scale), and I was passionately immersed in the manuscript of Reunion: Coda.

Today, I find myself at a different writing desk – my cherished Ikea desk from late 2015, which had faithfully journeyed with me from Miami to Tampa and then from Tampa to Madison, has now been replaced. Here, in my cozy room in the Kendall area, I am no longer weaving the tale of Reunion: Coda. The last chapter was lovingly crafted on April 2, and I eagerly submitted the manuscript for publication via Kindle Direct Publishing three days later. Now, I’m eagerly awaiting my hardcover copy – Amazon reports it’s in a Miami processing center, and it should arrive sometime this afternoon.

Last night, I received a heartwarming email from my now-retired 11th-grade English teacher at South Miami High, which is an important setting in my novel. She shared the delightful news that she had ordered a hardcover copy of Reunion: Coda. She’s always been a staunch supporter of my writing endeavors and is proud that I have written my first novel. Recently, she told me that she had read the synopsis on Reunion: Coda’s Amazon product page and was intrigued. I hope that she enjoys the book in its entirety.

I don’t have much else to say, so I’ll close for now. Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you on the sunny side of things.

  2. It is very special when your old English teacher buys your book. I don’t even have any contact with any of my old teachers. Congratulations 🏆🏆🏆
