โ€œOutside of a dog, a book is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.โ€ โ€• Groucho Marx, The Essential Groucho: Writings For By And About Groucho Marx

Iโ€™m delighted to share that Amazon delivered the package with the hardcover edition of Reunion: Coda at 6:11 PM Eastern Daylight Time, fulfilling a dream Iโ€™ve cherished since I was 15 years old: to hold in my hands a printed copy of a novel penned by Yours Truly.

Though I didnโ€™t leap for joy or attempt a cartwheelโ€”after all, Iโ€™m 62, not 15โ€”the excitement in my heart was boundless. Since the delivery arrived late in the day, I was too tired to physically express my exuberance. Yet, the thrill of finally seeing, holding, and reading a long work of fiction with my byline on the spine and title page, a dream dating back to 1978, is truly indescribable.

I look forward to reading the second book of the Reunion Duology not with the (overly critical) eye of a writer or editor, but as if someone else wrote Reunion Coda so I can enjoy the story of Jim Garraty, his best friend Mark, and his two loves in different time periods, Marty in 1980s South Florida, and Maddie in New York City in early 2000 just like everyone else.

For those who may feel hesitant about investing time (and money) in a novel by a relatively new, indie author, I urge you to take a chance on Reunion: Coda. The tale is crafted with passion and dedication, and I believe that it has the power to resonate deeply with readers of diverse backgrounds. Whether you choose the hardcover, paperback, or digital format, I hope you find the journey as enriching and captivating as I have. Happy reading!

      1. Happily, the last batch of fixes went “live” on all three editions between yesterday morning and last night. (The Kindle edition almost always gets the updates first.)

    1. Thanks!

It is exciting, to be sure, to hold a book that you worked on(and stressed over) for two years (and in my case, three different cities or towns in two states). Sometimes, it feels surreal, especially when you read passages that are really, really good.

That said, it’s also exasperating when you see something you thought you revised in the editing phase of the process, and it turns out that you forgot to edit or rewrite it.
