Morning, Monday, April 21, 2025, Miami, Florida

Hi, everyone! As I start this, it’s 6:55 AM Eastern Daylight Time, and the sky is gently transitioning from a soft gray to the warm hues of sunrise. The temperature is a pleasant 75°F (24°C) under partly sunny skies, accompanied by a refreshing easterly breeze of 10 MPH (16 Km/H) and 69% humidity, making it feel like a comfortable 70°F (21°C). It’s shaping up to be a delightful spring day with a high of 81°F (27°C) and partly sunny skies.

This morning started unusually early for me at the unearthly hour of 3 AM. Despite my attempts to catch some additional sleep, by 5 AM, I decided to embrace the day and sat down at my desk to check my emails. To my delight, I discovered that the latest updates for Reunion: Coda went live last night at 11:42 PM for the paperback edition and at 11:45 PM for the hardcover edition. Fortunately, there was only one story-related issue that needed fixing, and the cover-related problem flagged by Kindle Direct Publishing yesterday morning turned out to be a false alarm, as I hadn’t altered the cover illustration like KDP suggested.

Apparently, there was a clash between the text and the photo I was forced to use for the cover illustration…on a front cover with no text. I went ahead and corrected the passage in the novel that bothered me, sure, but I didn’t try to alter the existing cover. After all, it passed muster when KDP approved the print edition last week; why was KDP flagging it now?

And speaking of Reunion: Coda, my friends in New York City, Juan and Adria, recorded their performance of Boy of Harvard, a parody song based on “Men of Harlech,” that I wrote for a dream sequence in the novel. You can hear it here:

Well, it’s now 7:53 and I need to wrap this up so I can go have some breakfast. So until next time, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll catch you all later.

If you’re predisposed to do so, you can get the Kindle edition of Reunion: Coda here, the paperback edition here, and the hardcover edition here.
