Midday, Sunday, April 27, 2025, Miami, Florida

It’s not quite noon in my corner of South Florida as I write this, but I’m not the world’s fastest typist, so it’ll be early afternoon by the time I post this on WordPress. Currently, the temperature is 83°F (28 °C) under sunny conditions. With humidity at 58% and the wind blowing from the Atlantic at 8 MPH (13 Km/H), the feels-like temperature is 91°F (32°C)  on this golden but muggy spring day. Today, we can expect sunny skies and a high of 84°F (29°C).

The new promo!

Yesterday was an exciting day as Popcorn Sky Productions unveiled the shiny new promo video for my novel, Reunion: Coda. Just like the earlier promo for Reunion: A Story from 2023, this project was a heartfelt collaboration between Juan Carlos Hernandez, his wife Adria, and me. The concept was simple yet meaningful – we wanted to keep the familiar style from the previous video but make it even more special. Instead of a voice excerpt, we opted for text blurbs, primarily drawn from reviews of Reunion: A Story. To add a unique touch, we used a parody song, “Boy of Harvard,” rather than a generic music track.

Juan and Adria truly brought this vision to life. They meticulously selected the photos, recorded the charming song, added the text, and seamlessly assembled the video. Their dedication was remarkable as they balanced their professional commitments in New York, using their precious weekend to complete the promo. Their belief in my novel and willingness to invest their time and effort filled me with gratitude and joy. This collaboration not only showcases their talent but also the deep connection we share in bringing Reunion: Coda to the world.

Of course, Juan, Adria, and I are immensely proud of our collaboration, not just as a promotional video, but as a short film that stands on its own. We hope it brings awareness to my debut novel and attracts readers on YouTube. Who knows, maybe it’ll even help boost book sales!

As for me, I must admit, I’m feeling a bit tired and woozy today. I woke up at 4 AM, stayed awake (but still in bed) for about an hour, and then finally drifted back to sleep until around 8:15. That’s likely why it took me some time to find the motivation to write this post, and also why I plan to take it easy after I hit publish. I’ll probably relax with my Amazon Fire tablet, reading something other than my novel. Although I love Reunion: Coda and enjoy revisiting it as if I were just a reader, I can’t help but feel frustrated by the fixes I’ve uploaded to Kindle Direct Publishing not appearing on my Fire tablet, though they show up perfectly on my phone and Kindle for PC apps.

So, that’s it from me on this lovely last Sunday of April 2025. It’s a lazy Sunday, and I’m feeling a bit out of sorts, so I’ll sign off until next time. Take care, everyone, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
