When you pour two years of dedication, passion, and no small amount of stubborn perseverance into a novel, thereโ€™s nothing quite like seeing it resonate with readers. On May 3, 2025, Reunion: Coda received its first U.S. reviewโ€”and second overallโ€”on Amazon, and to say Iโ€™m thrilled is an understatement.

The review, left by an anonymous reader, captures the very essence of what I hoped Reunion: Coda would be: an emotionally gripping journey thatโ€™s equal parts heartbreaking, hilarious, and deeply immersive. Hereโ€™s what they had to say:

“Alex’s book is a thrill. It’s heartbreaking at times and hilarious at others. He writes lyrically, resembling the great writers of the past. There are no wasted pages or unnecessary details. He has a special gift of describing situations and painting pictures with words. There is never a dull moment. And the novel is simply emotionally captivating. I loved it and can’t wait for him to write another. Don’t miss it!!!”

I wonโ€™t lieโ€”seeing my writing described as โ€œresembling the great writers of the pastโ€ is more than humbling. Every author, no matter how seasoned, holds a quiet hope that their work will leave an imprint, that their words will carry weight beyond the page. To have a reader recognize that and express such enthusiasm is a moment Iโ€™ll treasure.

[Reunion: Coda] is a thrill. It’s heartbreaking at times and hilarious at others. He writes lyrically, resembling the great writers of the past.

This review isn’t just about meโ€”itโ€™s about the connection between writer and reader, the invisible thread of storytelling that weaves us together. Reviews like this remind me why I write: to craft narratives that stick with people, that move them, that give them something to hold onto long after theyโ€™ve turned the last page.

To my readersโ€”past, present, and futureโ€”thank you. You make the journey worthwhile. And to Anonymous Reviewer #2, wherever you are, youโ€™ve made my day.

Hereโ€™s to more stories, more connections, and maybe even more reviews to come.

    1. You still have time to return the copy you have now and exchange it for a revised version, Paul! ๐Ÿ™‚

Seriously, I’m embarrassed to know that the version of the book with the least number of errors is the Kindle edition. Or, at least, till I uploaded corrections to Kindle Direct Publishing.

In the meantime, thanks for the kind words. And I hope you like Reunion: Coda as much as you liked the first book in the Duology,
