I’ve decided to refocus this blog—A Certain Point of View, Too—on my writing and creative journey. Not because politics have stopped mattering, but because these are troubled times, and I find myself craving emotional clarity more than commentary. There’s enough noise out there. What I need right now is resonance.
I’m also in the middle of a complicated move to Central Florida. It’s not just the logistics—though those are daunting enough, especially with 90% of my belongings still stuck in Miami. I want my books back. Most of my clothes back. My Indiana Jones hat back. My movies, music albums, and other personal treasures back. My good laptop back. I want the medallion from my South Miami High School chorus days back. I like the quiet comfort of my own things.

But amid the chaos, something beautiful happened.
Brandon Padilla, the narrator and producer of Reunion: A Story, sent me a message that reminded me why I write. He told me that the story—and the emotional architecture behind it—motivated him to take his voiceover work to the next level. He bought a new microphone. He redid entire sections of the audiobook. He said, “I think you’re absolutely gonna love it.”

That kind of creative stewardship is rare. It’s not just about gear or polish—it’s about emotional fidelity. Brandon didn’t just rerecord lines; he re-entered the story with a new sense of presence. And that, to me, is the highest compliment a writer can receive.
Yes, this blog will stick to writing-related topics for now. It’s becoming a space for reflection, annotation, and emotional testimony. I’ll be sharing updates on the audiobook, behind-the-scenes notes, and maybe even a few fragments from the Garratyverse. Because in times like these, stories aren’t distractions—they’re lifelines.
