Sunday, November 2, 2025, Orlando, Florida
It’s late morning here in Central Florida as I write this—my 2,214th post on WordPress. True to late autumn in this part of the world, it’s a bright but cool day: 74°F (23°C) under sunny skies, with a forecast high of 80°F (27°C) and mostly sunny conditions.

Being the second day of the first weekend in November, I’m not planning to work on The Jim Garraty Chronicles—the omnibus edition that brings together Reunion: A Story, Reunion: Coda, and Comings and Goings – The Art of Being Seen. I had hoped to finish it in time for a December 2025 release, but with sales of the individual titles falling short of expectations, I’m not inclined to push myself toward that self-imposed deadline. I still want to see the compilation on Amazon eventually, but I’m not going to pour all my time and energy into publishing something that hasn’t yet found its audience.

That said, I’m not shelving The Jim Garraty Chronicles entirely. I’ll continue fixing formatting issues in the Kindle Create project and drafting new front and back matter tailored specifically for the omnibus. If it’s ready by late December, great. If not, I’ll aim for a 2026 release. For now, I’d rather focus on the audiobook editions of the Reunion duology. Some readers have expressed a preference for audio over print or Kindle, and perhaps that format will resonate more deeply—and sell more steadily.
Truth be told, I’m still a bit groggy despite having downed two cups of coffee. Even if I weren’t feeling ambivalent about the omnibus, I doubt I’d be sharp enough to do the kind of editing I expect from myself. Writing and revising demand both stamina and mental clarity, and I’m running low on both today. So I’m permitting myself to take this lovely—if slightly brisk—November Sunday off.
