Adventures in Audiobook Production: Playing the Waiting Game as ACX Reviews Cover for ‘Comings and Goings’

Hi, everyone.

I wanted to share a quick update and a little behind-the-scenes moment from my journey with Comings and Goings. It’s been a few days since I submitted the refreshed audiobook cover art, and right now, I’m riding out the “waiting game” that every writer knows well—what I like to call my personal landing pattern. ACX’s review process can take up to 10 business days, and I have to admit, I uploaded the cover late Friday evening (classic me, squeezing in that last-minute creativity!).

I was hopeful that things might move a bit faster, since the audiobook’s content sailed through without a hitch and the new cover I designed with Canva Pro checked all of ACX’s technical boxes. If there had been even a tiny issue, the system wouldn’t have let the file through. So, for now, I’m crossing my fingers and keeping a positive outlook while the talented folks—both human and automated—give everything a careful look.
