It’s late morning here in my corner of Central Florida, and the second weekend of November has arrived cloaked in gray skies and a damp chill that mirrors my mood a little too well. I’m still worried—quietly, persistently—about when (or if) I’ll be reunited with my belongings that remain stranded in Miami. That uncertainty weighs heavier than I’d like to admit.
November has never been my favorite month. It carries too many echoes of sadness: my first heartbreak—an involuntary breakup at age nine—and the emotionally fraught Thanksgiving holidays I endured when Mom was still alive. Vicky, my older half-sister, had a knack for turning those gatherings into theatrical battlegrounds, her toxic dramatics casting long shadows over what should have been moments of warmth. Add to that the shorter days and cooler temperatures, and it’s no wonder this time of year often feels more oppressive than festive.

It’s still the weekend, so there’s nothing new to report on the audiobook editions of Reunion: A Story and Comings and Goings – The Art of Being Seen. If all goes smoothly, Reunion: A Story will clear ACX’s Metadata Review phase, and Comings and Goings will pass through the Audio Review without technical hiccups. Fingers crossed.

With most of my books and movies still in Miami, I’m not in a position to write any new reviews for the blog. And I’m not quite in the mood for another gaming post either. So instead, I thought I’d share a bit of the music that’s been keeping me company lately—songs that echo, soothe, or simply help me feel a little more grounded.
