A Thursday Serenade for an Early Autumn Afternoon

Hello, friends.

I’m running fashionably—well, unfashionably—late on my usual blogging schedule. I normally start drafting my WordPress posts between 10:30 and 11 AM, but it’s already a little past noon. Since a decent-sized musing takes me an hour or two to coax into existence, that would push my start time for And the Horse You Rode in On well into the afternoon. And I’m not naturally a late-afternoon or early-evening writer unless I’ve caught one of those rare creative highs—which, especially during the awkward first-draft stage of a story, arrive about as reliably as a Florida snowstorm.
