Afternoon sun lights up my temporary home in Madison, NH, in early October 2024.

“I think the seasons complete me-

for once autumn comes

I can fall freely

along with every leave.

I do not have to bloom,

yet, I must die

in every delicate line of October.” ― Laura Chouette

Tempus fugit.

Time flies, doesn’t it?

Two years ago I was in rural New Hampshire, trying to enjoy the lovely vistas of my one and only autumn in New England, before moving back to Florida.

Here are some of the last photos I snapped before I left my temporary home on October 17, 2024 (which, coincidentally, was my late mom’s 96th birthday).

  1. Yes it seems like it wasn’t that long ago now.

    1. The way humans experience time is…interesting,to say the least.

Sometimes, it feels as though it was only a few weeks ago that I left Madison. I was disappointed about not being able to stay, but at the same time, the other tenant didn’t want me there. At other times, my stay in New Hampshire (especially the early phase when it seemed like things might go well) feels as though it happened 20 years ago…to someone else.
