I took this snapshot of my shopping cart’s contents at the Winn Dixie near my former home in South Florida a decade ago. It wasn’t a “let’s get everything” food-shopping trip; it was more of a “we’re out of X, Y, Z” one. Photo by the author.
Sunny, windy day
Avenue teeming with traffic
The cart’s wheels rattle.
Although I tried to go to Winn Dixie when the weather was ideal and always when the home health aides were with my mother, there were plenty of times when I had to go get groceries on rainy, windy days, especially during Miami’s wet season. (Photo by the author)
