It’s another sweltering and – eventually – stormy summer day in Central Florida. The heat wave affecting much of the eastern United States has a viselike grip in this part of the state, and I’m avoiding the heat, humidity, and ultraviolet radiation as much as possible. Right now it’s 90°F (32°C) under mostly cloudy conditions, but the radar on my Microsoft Weather app shows a cluster of thunderstorms heading this way.
That, unfortunately, means I must work on The Jim Garraty Chronicles tonight after the storms have moved on. I’m not thrilled about this, but I have no alternative. I can’t work on the Kindle Create file with my laptop’s copy of the app. And I don’t use my PC or any other electronic devices during a thunderstorm. I know I’m behind my self-imposed schedule. But I’m not going to risk a brand-new computer to a lightning strike to press forward with a project that may or may not get good sales when I publish it via Kindle Direct Publishing later this year.
