โ€œI believe someone made a grievous mistake when summer was created; no novitiate or god in their right mind would make a season akin to hell on purpose. Someone should be fired.โ€ โ€• Michelle Franklin

Itโ€™s another sweltering and โ€“ eventually โ€“ ย stormy summer day in Central Florida. The heat wave affecting much of the eastern United States has a viselike grip in this part of the state, and Iโ€™m avoiding the heat, humidity, and ultraviolet radiation as much as possible. Right now itโ€™s 90ยฐF (32ยฐC) under mostly cloudy conditions, but the radar on my Microsoft Weather app shows a cluster of thunderstorms heading this way.

That, unfortunately, means I must work on The Jim Garraty Chronicles tonight after the storms have moved on. Iโ€™m not thrilled about this, but I have no alternative. I canโ€™t work on the Kindle Create file with my laptopโ€™s copy of the app. And I donโ€™t use my PC or any other electronic devices during a thunderstorm. I know Iโ€™m behind my self-imposed schedule. But Iโ€™m not going to risk a brand-new computer to a lightning strike to press forward with a project that may or may not get good sales when I publish it via Kindle Direct Publishing later this year.

Thatโ€™s all I must share with you today, Dear Reader. Until next time, stay cool, stay hydrated, and Iโ€™ll catch you on the cheerier side of things.

  1. We’ve have it pretty hot here in north Texas too. It’s been 97-98 every day (36-37 Celsius) every day, and it is getting hotter, allegedly in the 100’s. 4th of July will be hot.

    1. At nearly 2 AM EDT, it’s 76 degrees. It’s going to be in the 90s during the day, though. It’s not surprising…the trend of hotter summers is old news by now. But it is a bit enervating.

  2. I’m still giggling over that quote. My sis in Indiana is miserable in their heat.

    Then there’s Paris… Whew…

    1. Gotta love Goodreads as a source of relevant quotes, Jacqui!

  3. Hope the weather improves soon. I hear summer is really bad this year in a lot of places.

    1. Florida weather (at least for me) will improve in late November, when the heat is somewhat less oppressive…and the hurricane season ends. ๐Ÿ™‚
