Correcting the Chronicles: Author’s Update
Author’s Log: Stardate 2607.19
Hi there (again)!
A quick update on the ongoing revision process for The Jim Garraty Chronicles. I had to make a few additional tweaks to the Kindle edition earlier this afternoon — small refinements, but worth addressing. I uploaded the changes before 4:30 PM, and Amazon confirmed the updated Kindle file went live a little after 6:30 PM. That’s unusually fast, but I’ll take the win.

The paperback, however, is still in KDP’s review queue. Once a print file enters review late in the day, it rarely clears until late at night or even early the following morning. Only after that can I upload the next round of fixes. And even when the revised paperback goes live, it typically takes about three days before you can order a copy and be reasonably certain the corrected text is the one you’ll receive.
This is the part of independent publishing that rarely gets talked about — the quiet, persistent maintenance work that happens after release. No big publisher smoothing the path, no production team catching stray errors. Just me, making sure the book you hold in your hands is the best version I can give you.
I’ll post another update tomorrow after the paperback clears review and the new file is live.
