Saturday, August 29, 2026 – Orlando, Florida
It’s early afternoon here in my corner of Orange County, Florida this last Saturday of August. The weather is typical of the late summer months in the subtropical zone; it’s hot, humid, and we’re expecting thunderstorms to pass through the area. I’m not surprised; I’m a native Floridian and have lived in the Sunshine State for more than 50 years and know its seasons all too well.
Still, I’ve never been fond of stormy weather, particularly when it comes to lightning strikes and tropical storms. So I am hoping that if a line of thunderheads passes by my neighborhood, they’ll blow through quickly instead of lingering overhead for two or three hours.

I did get a bit of good news today from my bank: Amazon Payments sent my royalties for last month (July) electronically this morning, and the payment is being processed and will be in my account by the end of the day.
It’s not much; $19.72 will only pay for my Amazon Music and Prime Video monthly subscriptions – just barely. But it’s something. And something is better than nothing, right?
Anyway, that’s all the news I have to share, so until next time, I’m out.
