I am, as you know, an indie author. That means that unlike, say, Danielle Steel, James Patterson, or Stephen King, I don’t publish my stories via any of the giant publishing conglomerates (Penguin Random House, Hachette, or Simon & Schuster). Consequently, I not only write short stories, novellas, novelettes, and novels, but I also must handle the “business side” of self-publishing….you know, doing the marketing…sans expensive (for me) advertising on Amazon or Google.
Luckily, I have talented friends out there who truly believe in my abilities as a storyteller; Juan Carlos Hernandez and his wife, Adria, have produced two videos to help promote Reunion: A Story and Reunion: Coda.
Here’s the one for the latter, featuring “Boy of Harvard,” a parody of the traditional Welsh martial march “Men of Harlech.” I wrote the lyrics (with a little help from Juan, who smoothed out the wording so it could be sung and recorded) for a dream sequence I drafted during my 10-month New Hampshire sojourn. Juan and Adria performed it for the promo, so if you enjoy the parody, it’s because they did such a great job singing and recording it!
