Every so often, a small creative project finds a life beyond what anyone expected for it. A Simple Ad has been one of those surprises. Earlier this week, Juan Carlos shared the news that our film had been selected for a festival in Buenos Aires — a lovely recognition on its own. And yesterday, we learned that another Buenos Aires festival, one closely related to the first, has chosen it as well.

There’s something quietly gratifying about that. Micro‑shorts don’t usually travel far unless they strike a particular chord, and this one seems to be resonating with programmers who value intimate, poetic storytelling. The new festival — the Fourth Poetic Cinema Festival — feels like an especially fitting home for it. The film is, in its own way, a small poem about connection, memory, and the unexpected tenderness of everyday moments.

Seeing a second laurel appear, especially from the same city and a related curatorial circle, feels less like coincidence and more like a sign that the film is finding its people. It’s a reminder that even the smallest stories can cross borders when they’re told with care.

For Juan Carlos, for Adria, and for everyone who helped bring A Simple Ad to life, this is another bright little milestone. And for me, it’s one more reason to keep showing up at the keyboard — because you never know which quiet idea will decide to wander out into the world and be seen.
